about

New single from bobsled team. Disappeared for a year writing songs on old tube amps from the 1950s. The amps sounded great when the Fender Strat and Fender Jazz bass were plugged in. Little beat-up and weathered five watt tweed amps dialled right up. Lots of fuzz and noise. Sounded great with reverb pedals.
Dreamy melodies started to float over all the fuzz. Vintage banging drums. Songs happened. Here's one about a ghost.
Thanks so much for listening and your support.

"Having taken some time off to sit back and work on new music, Belfast’s Bobsled Team are back with their first new music since 2021’s The Colours Blur. The duo don’t waste any time here trying to get their hooks in you, entering on the back of a bounding drum roll that pushes you right into the joyous vocal intro. Really, all they need are these vocals; the song soars as the vocals intertwine, then overlap, all the while rising and falling to meet up with the rhythm. This song just exudes energy, so turn it up and indulge your sweet tooth!"

"bobsled team “Analita” is an infectious pop rock track with a garage rock production. Instantly captured by the distant falsetto vocals the pacing really kicks in with a washed-out crash ride and gorgeous harmonic textures. Hailing from Belfast, Ireland, bobsled team has released one full-length and a handful of singles. Their uplifting and bubbly sound is sure to win your hearts and ears."
Hot Lunch Music

"Belfast-based duo bobsled team are unapologetically and joyously in debt to the UK and American indie scenes of the 80s and early 90s on Analita. It’s a charmer for sure, as they sing about a ghostly experience.
The vocals centre the song, bright and clear with a hint of innocence and amazement to them. The drums spar with a jangling guitar as the melody loops and thrills, as the song lives between the introspective sounds of classic C86 moods and a more brash Breeders style swagger. An album of this is going to be so much fun!"
Analogue Trash

"Bobsled Team are back with their first music since their The Colours Blur debut album of July 2021 signaled their intent to make the hitherto largely uncharted musical waters that lie somewhere equidistant between dream-pop, indie-pop, and jangle-pop very much their own.
On Analita, the first single from an album I am reliably informed will be released on vinyl LP in the not-so-very-distant future (exact date to be decided upon), the sounds remain just as alluring as the Belfast duo always have, but somehow feels more stripped back, more retro in production, and where once there was beautiful swirl, there is now a considered deliberation where every note has its immediate place rather than being a part of a conglomerate of musical textures.
The more mature sound suits them, and the retro production somehow adds just that little bit more warmth to the aesthetic.
The Bobsled Team is back and the new album promises a world that will always be very much their own."

"Hailing from Belfast, pop duo Bobsled Team brings us some new music in the form of a single, “Analita”, their first new track since 2021’s LP The Colours Blur. The track itself is a jangly dream-popgasm, with wistful-sounding distortion, a la The Sundays or Sixpence None The Richer, backing up singer Kimberly’s singsong voice."

"Hailing from Belfast, Ireland, bobsled team has just unveiled Analita, the lead single from their eagerly anticipated upcoming album. The track is a bewitching fusion of whimsical indie-pop, 90s dream pop, and a dash of noise pop. Kimberley’s ethereal vocals are utterly irresistible, while Oliver’s guitar hooks prove to be undeniably addictive. Analita is a pure embodiment of indie charm, transporting us back to the golden era of the 90s, where the magic of that era is brilliantly reincarnated in this enchanting track."
Last Day Deaf
